Back in the day...
So.. I have to build my portfolio to showcase my work from second year, but since we've only done two briefs I'm thinking about including some first year work. BUT most of my first year work is border line average and there are only a few pieces of work which I like. Panic!
I don't want to include work which isn't up to scratch but I also don't want to have an empty portfolio...
I thought about including sketches but none of them would relate to the pieces of work I've done in college.

Video clip
To all the Family Guy fans!
Watched this episode the other day and absolutely loved how the style of animation changed! I love how it shows the different styles of animation there are and shows how a general family guy animation changes into a disney inspired style.

Can you draw the internet?
Here is my attempt to draw the internet! :)
The idea gradually came together after I started to draw well known icons from the internet then added wires and decorative elements! This was then followed by the legs...
Enjoy!

Previous work
Im starting to get the hang of uploading images! Yay
Here is my website for A-Z children's charity, one of the earliest briefs we were all given.
This is just the home page but is a good example to show the overall design I went with and how I layed out all the information combined with text on the website. The colour scheme is very specific too, relating to the actual logo of the charity I designed at the beginning.
Again I was really pleased with the outcome of my designs and I put alot of effort into completing this brief, definately one of the briefs that I have enjoyed the most!
Example of work
After many failed attempts of trying to upload images, it has finally worked! This is my second time writing this blog because I didn't click save and so I lost what I ranted about a few minutes ago so here goes again...Here are my two book covers that I designed for the last brief and I chose to do the poetry category. I'm really pleased with the final outcome of my designs and I spent alot of time struggling to come together with a certain style. Trying to get my own imagery was really difficult but I think towards the end everything started to piece together and I'm really pleased! :)
I tried to maintain the same style with both book covers and keep a good balance between the imagery and text. The whole design I've created has a reason behind it rather then thinking "it looks nice". I wanted to have a distinct look of the book covers being ripped and therefore you could see inside the book and look at the images which represent the things that are mentioned within the poem. I think I did quite well, if I do say so myself and hopefully everyone has a good opinion about it! If not.. too late now.

Assessment
Finished all my work and ready to be assessed!
For this unit I have particularly enjoyed designing an inforgraphic due to the fact we were able to choose our own topic and was given the freedom to explore new ideas and styles.
During the book cover brief I found it more difficult to create a modern style to my chosen poetry books. However during the sketching process I kept developing ideas which enabled me to come up with my final design. More development work was produced onto the computer and my finish work has included effects which I believe makes my final designs look more professional as well as presentable.
